True Crime Today: New Photos of Hania Aguilar; Some Good News For Once

In Lumberton, NC…

New photos have been offered up by the FBI of 13-year-old Hania Aguilar, the North Carolina teen who was abducted from her own driveway one week ago. Hania was outside her home, waiting to be driven to school, when she was taken by a man witnesses described as “dressed in all black and wearing a yellow bandana”. The suspect reportedly forced her into a family member’s SUV, which was idling in the driveway, and drove away. Last Thursday, authorities located the 2002 green Ford Expedition that Hania had been taken in. It had been abandoned by the side of the road, and if any clues were found inside of Hania’s whereabouts they haven’t been shared with the public.

The FBI has released surveillance video of a man walking near Hania’s home and are urging the public to take a close look at it. Investigators are hopeful that someone will come forward who may “recognize the way he walks, his mannerisms“. Hania is about 5 feet tall and 125 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt with flowers, according to the FBI. Authorities are urging anyone who has information about Hania’s whereabouts to call the tip line at: 910-272-5871. Timeline-wise this doesn’t look great, but I’m channeling all my positive energy to Hania and her family tonight hoping that she’ll be found alive.

In Pinal County, AZ…

Finally, good news! A 10-year-old Arizona girl appears to have avoided a potential kidnapping attempt last Friday by demanding her family’s code word from her alleged, would-be abductor. A man in an SUV pulled up next to the girl while she was speaking with a friend, reportedly then telling her that her brother had been in a car accident and that she needed to come with him. She responded by asking for her family’s code word, and when he didn’t know it he drove away. Kudos to this level-headed 10-year-old, there have been a couple of big kidnappings in the last month and its such a relief we get to hear a happy ending this time around.
